JULY 5th and OCTOBER 3RD 4TH AND 5TH 2025

I will be teaching at a 2 or 3 day felting retreat in the Serra da Estrela in Portugal.

The focus will be on creating texture; you can choose to make scarves, cushion covers, vessels or wall hangings.

The course is suitable for beginners who have some experience of working with fibres and for those who have experience of felt making.

Your accommodation will be in a beautiful house in the mountains, with magnificent views to the west the sunsets are extraordinary. There are is a 12 hectare forest, plenty of walking opportunities. There is a natural pool for morning or afternoon swims.

Your bedroom will be adorned with art work from local artists just in case you get bored with the view!

The workshop begins at 10am through to 5pm.

Accommodation is full board and will be vegetarian, much of the produce coming from the organic garden. Wine and soft drinks are included. The town of Seia with it’s traditional restaurants is a 7 minute drive.

My credentials….I am a member of the Society of Designer Craftsmen and the International Felt makers Association. I trained in ceramics and have been working with fibres, predominantly felt, for 10 years. My work has been exhibited in many exhibitions in Europe.

The inclusive cost is €350 for 2 days or €540 for 3 days.

There is an opportunity to stay longer. Please ask.

The reason this workshop is also called a retreat is that you will be immersed in nature. No tv and definitely no political debate. A small group of no more than 6.
